My family & I visited Slovenia in June 2008. We stayed about an hour from Ljubljana & visited there for a day--which is enough to see the old town. Some hints, if you will drive there yourself, contact the Slovenian tourist board ahead of time to get maps and brochures so you know where to go and where to park. The traffic is ...

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/19/08
We visited Wine cellars of Slovenia in Ljubljana. The name itself was unknown to us. People recommended it as it is the biggest and oldest wine shop with a restaurant. When we arrived we were surprisingly shocked by the atmosphere of the restaurant as it is made in a old wine cellar ambiance. The food was great. Some had traditional Slovenian ...

Wow, what a surprise this place was. Fabulous atmosphere, good food (although we passed on the 'Young Horse'), great accomodation and a tremendous train service. All in all a very good place to get drunk.

Old city centre is pretty, it's the only thing worth seing. But, unfortunately, it's very small. Plenty of restaurants and cafes there, but nothing particularly amazing, except for several old restaurants, with not such a good service, but great food. The rest of the city I didn't like, socialist architecture, and nothing intersting to see or do.

I just loved it; it is a nice and peacefull city. People are a little cold but very kind. Also the buildings, the rivers (in the city center) and the whole atmosphere is just perfect. Everyone should visit!! Next time I hope to see the mountains, I've heard that they are so cool.
This city was wonderful. It was nice and peaceful, minimal traffic and the sites were near each other. It was a beautiful drive their and a nice day trip.
"Magic" is the perfect word to describe Ljubljana, the most beautiful city I have ever seen: the surroundings, nature combined with castles, houses, museums, sculptures and best of all, people. This is the city in which I want to grow old.
