    I found Faro very beaufiful and peaceful. I flew in from Amsterdam to Faro and as soon as I got there, the people were wonderful. I got on a bus that took me to the center of town. I looked for a hotel but couldn't afford it so the kind young lady told me to get a "Pensao" (pension but not a youth hotal). I had my own room and key, ...

    I adored Faro.The Marina area, shopping, reataurants and friendliness of the people make this an ideal place to vacation,or retreat. Teatro Lethes, little cafes near the Cathedral, stork's nests;, Portuguese coffee,bread and cheeses are the best. Cataplana is sensational,as is all of the seafood in Portugal.
    Rick Steeves missed this one! And Tavira is positively magical.
