I lived in Gdansk all my life. Six yrs ago I came to the USA and now I tell everybody that this is the place where EVERYBODY should visit at least once in their lives! It is amazing place! Although people are not as outspoken as Southern Americans, they are friendly and helpful if needed. Many outstanding places to visit! Many good and big dance ...
Gdansk is a beautifully placed port city in N. Poland. The “Hansa” owned Gdansk in the past, so it looks much similar to such cities as Amsterdam, but it has almost a typical polish sacral architecture and such renaissance buildings such as a town hall. Many buildings from the 15th threw the18th century. Even though, most of this city was destroyed ...
I recently left the USA for the first time and traveled to Gdansk Poland. I have to say that this is such a beautiful place on earth and such wonderful, beautiful people. Everyone here was very very kind and helpful... whether I spoke Polish or not I was definately able to communicate as were they. I am DEFINATELY going back very soon! Thank You Gdansk. Anthony E. Former capital of Hanseatic League, with well-preserved old town and in close proximity to nice beaches of the Baltic. It is also where the WWII started for good. It's the place where Solidarity was born and the seed of collapse of Soviet Union was sown. Gdansk has great food and good shopping. Very much worth the visit. Perhaps one of two or three most interesting cities on the Baltic coast.
i love Poland and Gdansk is probably one of the most beautiful and culturally rich cities in Europe. Old--over 1000 years!-- and there is so much to do, I don't even know where to start. Everyone is friendly, English speaking or German, food is fabulous, and you don't even need an itenerary. Just wake up every day, have some good breakfast, ...
Town full Solidarity not only in politics but too in economic. Town full of historic places which mixed Europe nation. Good meal, good wheater ( in september 20 deg C).
Gdansk, Poland (old town) is a very picturesque, historical city, which is easily navigated by foot. With a good map and a little pre-planning most points of interest can be found and enjoyed. Long Street, Neptune's fountain, St. Mary's Church, the old Crane, and my favorite St. Mary's Street, the trade centre for amber are some of my ...
Great shopping not too expensive especially if you like amber, there are quite a few nice bars. Definitely not short on catholic churches. Is a great place to vacation, nice people and weather in the summer.
it's a great city to visit. it's geting modern and more safetier. people are friendly, and there are lot's of places to visit. not only in the center, but in all of the parts. the are many shops yuo can visit. and the amber jewelery is great too. and you can't forget about the history of the city, it's amazing.
perfect example of old hanseatic town, not so much commercialised as very similar cities in Germany, and much cheaper. It's not only by the seaside, in the very close neighbourhood there are hills and forests very good for mountain biking. Plus there is 1000 years old history of Poles, Germans, Britons, Jews and Dutch living together for centuries, and of course you can meet Lech Walesa. And besides...i was born there.
