Gilgit is an important and historical town in the capital of Northern Areas of Pakistan. It was the place where Peter Hopkirks Great Game was played between big Nations i.e. Great Britian and Russia. The old and ancient Silk Road passes from here. It is now access to China through KKKH the famous Karakuram Highway. Gilgit has many sightseeing and picnic spots among best Naltar Valley, Bagrot and The Famous Hunza Valley one should never miss.

I,ve been to Northern areas of Pakistan twice. It was simply unbelievable. Everyone who loves travelling must see it before dying. Gilgit in particular is the place where every mountain lover has to go because it is the staging place for following world famous places:
- Nanga Parbat (Killer Mountain)
- Hunza the Shangrilla
- Raka Poshi Peak
- ...

For mountain lovers and travellers it is the place to visit. i've been to some other mountain regions like Khatmando and Lhasa but believe there is no comparison with northern areas of Pakistan. It is pure and natural with lakes and pastures at 16000 ft and above height. simply its unbelievable. i wish if i could go there again.

i like this place very much bcoz the villages, mountains, glaciers, foutains, and the people are very nice and loving.
one should visit this place in summer because this palce becomes heaven in real terms in summer. the ideal month to visit this place is june n july. everyone who will visit this palce will enjoy the beauty of nature n they will refresh their minds.
