    loved the wild and wooly beach. the views with the snow capped mountains was magical. the seals were a great bonus, have never seen so many in one place.

    Beyond the incredible chances to swim with dolphins and whale watch, I found the people to be very friendly and just as interested in getting to know you as allowing you to experience their lives. Give yourself at least an additional day beyond the sea adventures for the locals.

  • Great Stop-off between Nelson and Christchurch!

    Great one day stop between Nelson and Christchurch....beautiful (winding) drive on either side. If possible, visit the seals as early in the morning as possible...they "sun-bathe" in the parking area to the south of town...ask any local for directions! Cute restaurants and shops...recommend!
