BP...no, not the petrol kiosk..The first time I visited Batu Pahat was about four years back, the impression I got was a very quiet, laid back place..and nothing else.. But since then, I have become more familiar with the place and have grown to love the food especially the mee rebus cooked by a chinese man, char kuay teow near the "riverside" and pork rib soup near ...4 of 4 Yahoo! Only good for nostalgia visit; not a holiday spotThe town has not changed much for decades except for Jln Rahmat and some more new housing estates. Town is generally worn and beaten and the longkangs, o boy, still as bad as ever! Poor infrastructure as usual and people just simply accept and cope with it. Small Town of Batu PahatFood is great, and cheap, and abundant, and rich in variety. Many famous foods available here. Riverside is among the most famous food spots at night. Traffic is alright, can get congested sometimes. Weather is warm and humid, not to my liking, but westerners may prefer this tropical heat. Still a small townBatu Pahat still has a small town atmosphere. I taught at the High School 30 years ago and get back every 5 - 10 years. A few weeks ago I was back and I wanted to see my old teacher friends. I went to the High School and asked around. No one knew them.
