Went to macau in march '07. To behoenst i had hte time of my life. Stayed at the Wynn and visited many hotels over the week i was there. in my opinion if you are going to gamble and enjoy the "adult playground" of macau dont waste your time with the sites offered by macau. The most horrible expericnce was the 360 cafe the service was ...
Macau is, like Hong Kong a "special administrative zone" set up by China. Basically that means they have their own visa entrance system and money.
Macau is actually three islands, all connected by bridges. The main island, Macau is where the majority of the population lives. It is old and new with narrow streets in many parts, and an ...

Awesome Macau!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/06
I fell in love with this small place from the time I looked outside the plane window when it was announced that we were about to land. The airport runway was coastal, an entirely separated runway afloat the sea about a kilometer away from the shore, perhaps to safety the mainland from any possible tragedy of landing airplanes. Thus, the plane had ...

Macau Resorts
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/19/05
We spent a few days in and around Macau exploring Macau Resorts. The Westin Macau and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel were nicely appointed. There's a great sense of history intact and since we are avid gamblers we intend to return when the Wynn Resort and Venetian Resort are completed. Macau should rival Vegas for the gambling scene a the Macau Resorts look to be on par with Vegas.
Macau was a wonderful place to visit. I went with someone who was raised there so i got to see all the good local places to go, as well as truly experience true macanese culture. The food was awesome,an interesting mix of Cantonese and Portugese styles. The Macanese people were very very friendly. Macau Tower was a neat place so i recommend going ...
We spent a day in Macau when we were visiting Hong Kong (we took the Jetfoil across the harbor... which was a fun experience in and of itself!)
I found Macau to be a facinatinating place since the Portugese colonial presence is still amazingly strong! In the language of the Macauans (is that how you say it?), the architecture, and the food! ...
Definitely worth a day trip from Hong Kong (but probably not a destination in and of itself, unless you want to gamble in the casinos.)
I enjoyed Macau's melange of Chinese and Portugese culture - truly uniqie.
Make sure you don't miss the Macau Tower - stunning views AND Extreme activites. (Try the Skywalk X or Mast Climb.)

small but complicated city
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/05
Macau is indeed a very small city state. I would suggest a 2-day trip when you are visiting the nearby Hong Kong or Southern China. If time is limited, one day is fine too but it will be quite rush to enjoy the atmosphere and to explore the richness.
Apart from the casinos(more to come) and entertaining business, Macau is perfect for anyone ...

Macau, way to go!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/06/05
It is best to visit Macau during the autumn season for Western visitors, as the weather is drier and cooler. Busing might be unnecessary due to busy hours are usually round the clock, and just ask the people for help on direction or similar topic, for they are quite friendly (however, English might be a bit difficult for them, especially the older ...
