I lived in Otaru for about 6 months on an overseas studies program. I enjoyed the people there, they were great to me. If you don't like the snow, don't go to Otaru during the winter. The snow was as tall as my head and I am 6'6". Sapporo is close to Otaru and there is a lot to do there. I miss the people there a lot and can't wait until I can see them again!
