    I recently visited Kitakyushu and found it to be a wonderful place! The city was clean and green, which I didn't expect after reading the "official" yahoo information about it. (Maybe time for yahoo to revise their information...) The people were friendly and helpful, though language was was a problem.

    Kitakyushu has a bad reputation due to its industrial past. It was a reputation that was well deserved, but not anymore. The city's industrial base has shrunk over the past decade and is being slowly replaced with high-tec industries, service industries and tourism.
