Castle townHimeji is a beautiful clean and friendly city.
I originally went to Himeji to see the famous castle Himeji-jo which is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage landmark. The castle is stunning and well worth the trip from Osaka or Kobe just to see it. Great city to stay inPeople overlook Himeji, putting it aside as a day trip (or half-day) to see the castle if that. Yet the city has a full complement of restaurants, excellent hotels (often at better rates than in Osaka), and is a major stop on the Shinkansen line, putting it within reach of Kyoto, Hiroshima, Osaka, etc. The city has two wonderful parks for children, ...3 of 4 Yahoo!
