  • Fukuoka...lights, camera, action!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/15/07
A nice place to visit. I enjoyed many things and places around Fukuoka, but it got old after a bit. I love the Autumn season, as the colors of nature are gorgeous! But so is cherry blossom season everywhere you go!

Fukuoka is a very beautiful place. Moreover, I like to see people going out along with thier dogs. The weather in this wonderland is awesome!
I am very sad to leave this place. I hope to be there again.

  • The greatest unknown city of Japan
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/03/06
I liked it so much I decided to live here forever. Many times it has been voted as the most liveable city in all of Asia. It is also maintaining its status as the cheapest city in Japan. Although a car is needed to get to the fabulous spots surrounding the city, urban transportation is easy with multiple bus stops and subway stops only six ...

  • Great City!!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/28/05
Fukuoka is a fabulous city. The arcitecture is enjoyable, the city is very clean and safe, and it is a great city to experience the Japanese culture. I especially enjoyed the hotel I stayed at. It is to date the best hotel experience of my life. I stayed at the Seahawk Hotel, which is right next to Seahawk Stadium. I also enjoyed the aquarium. There is so much to see but super touristy.

  • best time is JUNE
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/10/05
Fukuoka was awesome during June/late May... I hear after that it gets to be rainy/humid...

I would recommend taking one of the boats to one of the little island and taking a hike, either Umi no Nakashima, or boat to Nokonoshima.

The city center is called Tenjin, and has lots of shopping and very very nice restaurants. I would recommend ...

with my short stay at fukuoka,I've learned to love it for it is so easy to locate the place that i wnt to visit. Althoug I can not read the kanji charactered street signs, i never got lost and the people have a warm welcome to us with my friends who were my companions in visiting different places. At first, I was really shocked of the culture ...

  • Hated It
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/05/05
I just really didn't like it. It would have been better, I imagine, if I spoke Japanese. If you're going, definitely brush up on some basic terms.

  • Wonderful introduction to Japan
    By bex, 07/24/05
I spent a week in Fukuoka while teaching English in Korea, and found it to be much more enjoyable than Tokyo or Osaka. Food and drinks were reasonably priced, the people were friendly and helpful, and I thought the town itself was beautiful. While not difficult to navigate, it seemed large in terms of area, and we ended up renting a car the last ...
