I had the privelege of living in Italy for two years, saw many incredible things; but few surpassed the ancient city of Paestum! The 2700 year-old temples, the theater, the world-famous Tomb of the Diver-it's all here. It's a delightful 2-hour train ride south from Naples- but be prepared to walk about a mile to visit the sites if it is off-season. I think buses run in the summer.
