Montepulciano is a very charming town. I spent five weeks there for study abroad and just fell in love with the town. Make sure you are up for walking if you visit here though. Only locals are allowed to drive in town. Also, there is a market every thursday. Check it out. Lo Sputino has excellent pizza if you just want a quick snack. For ...

the culture you expect!

unlike most hilltowns in toscana, montepulciano may very well have the steepest streets to walk of all of them. once arriving in the top of town, however, several alleyways for shopping, a handful of churches/duomo, countless fine eating establishments, and wonderful wines to entertain the pallette! i've visited twice and hope to some more!
