The churches in the historic center are like nothing I've ever seen. The exterior and interiors of these churches are a stupendous example of baroque architecture. The historic center is just a few minutes walk from the train station. If you happen to be in the region of Puglia it is well worth stopping here. Lecce is the last stop at the end of the Italian FS rail line.
