  • what an extraordinary place
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/26/08
I've been to Genoa recently and I enjoyed many places that I couldn't see on my first visit some years ago. The old medieval city is amazing, you just need to walk around and discover it, with its narrow streets, the beautiful tall palazzi, with their art galleries and museums, and restaurants, shops, markets and cafes. Piazza Di Ferrari ...

  • Reborn to new Life
    By Markus, 12/03/05
Genoa is a city which since 1992 has gradually and constantly rebuild the largest historical middle age town of Europe and is now worth a visit, before the mainstream tourists put it onto their map. The longer you stay in Genoa, the more you will learn to love this town. You can explore the historical center, the acquarium, one of the largest in ...

  • Beautiful City Ugly Locals
    By Jay-Rod, 11/02/05
When I first drove into Genoa I was greatly impressed by the beauty of the city. However, once we made contact with the locals everything became ugly. The locals were extemely rude all over the city. Especially on the local beaches, which are privately owned and charge a fee, where the waiters at the bars and the sunbathers give you a rough time ...

  • Where's the night life?
    By David, 10/03/05
Spent 24 hours in this lovely port. The Aquarium is a definite 'must see'. Came out of the hotel at 8.30 in the evening to have a meal and hit the town. All the previously bustling bars seemed to have closed. Eventually found a restaurant which advertised that it was open until 11.00, but by 9.30 the staff were giving all the signs of ...

  • I'd like live there
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/25/05
Genoa is simply marvellous. I really believe I've never been in a finer place. The mixing of an ancient atmosphere, not yet ended, with a modern cosmopolitan people is unique in the world. Go and see the ancient harbour.

  • Don't miss it
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/16/05
genoa is not your ordinary port city. the city is built on hills overlooking the harbor and is not all about shipping. the historic center is very quaint, with little shops and street vendors. i'd be careful walking about at night though.
