I went on a few weekend trips to Como and also lived there for a homestay. The city is beautiful and walkable. The streets are small and quaint and the lake is Gorgeous.
The people are so kind; if you are invited to anyone's home up in the hills, definitely go and watch the sunrise over the city from their balconies.
