Cattolica is a great resort in a fabulous location. Atmospheric, with especially friendly locals whom I still visit. Unlike Spain,no awful english entertainment or pubs. Beaches clean and organised in typical Italian style! Surrounding countryside beautiful,even beats Tuscany. Loved Urbino, Gradara and Montegridolfo.

I stayed a couple of nights in this town and I couldn't wait to get out. As Italian seaside towns go, this is about as nondescript as you can get and has a particularly low-class feel about it. While the town itself looks cheap, the prices are most certainly not, as others have already pointed out.

Remember, if you are going to Italy where there are so many beautiful coastal areas... why would you want to stay in a place like this?

working class resort nothing like viareggio or even lido de jesolo
great beach clubs for kids though.

the whole place is a bit 30's and needs renovating
