Killarney was beautiful! The scenery, the castles, the pubs.... Would definitely suggest going there. My husband and I had a blast. There wasn't enough time in the day to do everything we wanted to do.
Drove the ring of Kerry and the Skelligs while I stayed in Killarney. The pubs were fantastic and the live music was great. Seen a pub band Tineean and can still hear them singing "Whiskey in the Jar"......ramma ding rammma do rammma da!!!!
Only thing I disliked about Killarney was the water!
I had a blast partying in Killarney. It was a lot of fun. I'd go back if I ever got the opportunity. Ireland was a blast.

Killarney is a very nice city.
Definitely visit Killarney National Park. An elderly man drove us through the park on a horse and buggy and chatted away with us about the park and its history. We hiked through the woods and the view was marvelous. The Muckross House is a must; it's gorgeous.
The city is nice and the people are friendly. ...

Base Camp
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/26/06
Killarney makes a great base camp for your travels in Southern Ireland. From here you can rent bikes and see the lakes, mountains, water falls, Castle etc. You can also take wonderful drives around to Dingle and so on. You can hike, bike, walk, and eat. Perfect location to see the beauty of Ireland. Killarney itself is a fine enough town, a bit touristy, but you can find some nice places to eat and lots of tracitional irish music.

I personally did not care so much for Dublin, so I rented a car and drove four hours south to Killarney and spent five days there. I was told that Killarney is the real Ireland, and it was. Killarney is small, quiet and beautiful. And there is pleanty of Guiness.
You must do the ring of Dingle, and the ring of Baer... everyone says to do the ...
There is no place in Ireland like Killarney. The people are so friendly and the town has plenty to do. Muckross House, Torc Waterfall, Ring of Kerry, and plenty of pubs to visit. Murphy's Bar on College street is the best pub in town. The food is outstanding and many locals are there. The rooms upstairs are very clean.
Accommodation in Killarney is cheaper than other areas, about 30euro/person. It is a popular resting spot for those interested in the famous "Ring of Kerry" tour around the Kerry peninsula. It's also worth mentioning that our B&B set us up with the Ring of Kerry tour, the bus picked us up from the doorstep as a favor! Very funny and ...

An experience not to be forgotten
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/16/05
There is nothing to dislike about this place, I have never has such an experience of beauty and fun in my life
Dont go to the old Irish music bar. Go down the street to the Grand night club. It was the most fun I had in Ireland. Live band, nice people, fun time. Arrive before 10p.m. for free admission. Play golf down the road at Ross golf club during the day. Make sure you spend a long time at Muckross Castle.
