Northwestern Ireland is the best. So rural and rugged the people are so friendly and the craic is always mighty in the local pub. I Loved Gweedore, whichis just a bit up the road. Gaelic is still spoken. The people are very interested in you and your travels, and the thing I like most is the laid back ways. You do not need a watch no one is in a rush, which can take some getting used to, but once you are used to it its Nirvana!!
I loved the small town atmosphere of Dun Laoghaire and am returning for my third time in a few weeks. The down town shopping area and pier life is delightful. Dun Laoghaire isn't a bad commute from Dublin or Brey where you can hike.
