The people are nice, the food delicous. Most part hard to find because the city is big and certain part of surabaya so far each other, not good for short trip. The place called 'Dolly' at Jarak jalan pasar kembang should visit to see people of surabaya's nightlife but dont carry your child here. Use only bluebird taxi because they use meter and dont use the white taxi.
Taste the indonesian food in their own specialication is more cheaper than from a famous restaurant. We have a traditional salad called rujak cingur in delta plaza or kayuun. we have an indonesian soup called soto which you can find in soto ayam ambengan or soto daging gubeng pojok. Or you can find 24 hours soto daging in jalan sungkono, called ...
Madura, about half an hour by ferry from Surabaya. Madura is lovely because being such a small island, you can almost always see the sea. Loved the island for its sunny skies and I found the vegetation almost mediterranean because of its sparseness. Small villages and many mosques dotted the roads, vans and motor bikes abounded .There were the ...

Lots of history and old building. It is humid, as many other cities in Indonesia. It is dirty in some part, as many other cities around the world. It is ...

Surabaya is a dirty city. it's hot and polutted! But after the governor ellection, it is now getting better and better everyday. The city center is green, streets are almost clean. And west surabaya is just like singapore. malls everywhere, there is even eiffel tower and merlion statue here. It's gonna be the second jakarta!

I'm a Filipino who's been staying in Surabaya for almost a year now. I believe Surabaya is one of the cleanest and greenest cities in Southeast Asia. I commend its' local governments efforts to cover the city land with lush greens. Major roads are lined with tall trees which protect motorists and pedestrians from the scorching rays of ...
