    A far quieter place compared to Jogja. The kraton has more exhibits and though they are Muslims we could see Hindu offerings in the compound. You don't have problems with the variety of food and they are really cheap. I dont think the batik is cheap however. Jogja has more range and is cheaper.     The people were friendly and helpful. It was typical Indonesian weather in December: 100 degrees F and humid except for one day when the humidity dropped.   • Great food and batik!

    I've been to many places but no town is like Solo! Great food, and you can find it anywhere along the street (especially at night). At Jalan Sutan Syahrir: Ayam Widuran, Pia Pia Jamur, Nini Thowong, etc.
    At Jalan Urip Sumoharjo: Orion, Timlo Sastro, Dika cafe.
    At Keprabon: Nasi Liwet and ginger soup.
    And still many places I can't mention ...

    Solo city is not so enjoying, the weather are very hot hot,many beggars, dirty, pollution everywhere, but i like visit keraton it is the best historic place,
