Mysore receives a good share of tourists because of its cultural heritage. The maximum influx of tourists is during the Dasara festival. Some of the well-known palaces in Mysore are the Ambavilas Palace (also known as Mysore Palace), Jaganmohana Palace, Rajendra Vilas, Jayalakshmi Vilas and Lalitha Mahal which have been constructed by the Wodeyars. ...
I was on business in Bangalore and I was lucky enough to take a one-day side trip to Mysore, a couple of hours north.
As it was my first time visiting India, it was great to see the contrast of a place like Mysore to the more densely populated Bangalore. I had a chance to visit cathedrals, temples and some of the local shops. I definitely ...
My brother and I signed upfor a package tour from Bangalore to Mysore-Ooty-Conoor. The problem with the package tours is that they halt at most of the shops/stores which is good for travel agents as they probably get a percentage of the sale.
The next halt was at Srirangapatna, which is home to the SriRanganatha Swamy temple which dates back to ...
I would rather look for an evening in Mysore and visit the Brindawan gardens and in the morning liesurely walk to the Maharaja palace and museums. By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/17/06
I AM VERY MUCH FOND OF THIS CITY, I SPENT MOST OF MY ANNUAL HOLIDAYS HERE GOING IN AND ARROUND MYSORE CITY.LOCAL PEOPLE VERY MUCH UNDERSTANDING,COOPERATIVE.
A LOT OF TOURIST SPOTS HERE, ONE SHOULD HAVE TIME TO EXPLORE AND ENJOY THE BEAUTY OF THIS GREAT ROYAL CITY ( CITY OF PALACES )
We stopped in Mysore on our way to Ooty in Tamil Nadu. It is a clean city and easy on traffic. There seem to be a lot of out door things to do. The palace is a nice place to hang out when it is not too crowded. The food seems pretty good around the city as well. The hotels are a bit pricy, thanks to tourism.
