Our experience in 2003 in Lillafured was wonderful. We drove from Budapest, around 2.5 - 3 hours. We stayed at the very lovely Hotel Palota. The gardens of the hotel were beautiful. Hiked on a few trails, which were well marked. The lake outside the hotel is serene. We loved it and are going back end of July 2005
