Trier is great for history and culture. The Porta Nigra is a must-see. Check out their cathedral, too. It has two parts-the Gothic part and the Roman part of the church. We were at Frankfurt in mid-March and drove their on our way back from Viaden. The little city is simply beautiful & so harmonious! Friendly folks & great varieties of sights catering to the very limited time we had there. We will like to go back there to explore the place in the near future.
