Leipzig is Mecca for lovers of Bach. Easter at Thomaskirche was a marvel of glorious music. The world-famous boys' choir and the Gewandhaus Orchestra performed a cantata and accompanied the hymns. The choir performs most Fridays and Saturdays -- glorious! Food in nearby restaurants was also outstanding. Kartoffelhaus is kitschy but does great things with potatoes.

Leipzig is a charming and friendly city. I was staying in another city and took the train there for the day, and that was enough time to see everything that I wanted to see. The main train station is great for shopping. The city is full of history. It is a nice city to visit, but if I return again it will probably stay in another city like Dresden, and take the train to Leipzig for teh day.

I have been to Leipzig three times now and everytime I find something new to do. The people I have meet have been very polite and helpful when I've got turned around on the streets. The food is great!! I have never had a bad meal. I suggest the greek resturant Paros beside the Accento Hotel on Taucher Strasse. The best food I have ate in all of Germany. The night life is great. I can't say enough.

I visited this very nice city from Dec 1 2005 till Dec 12 2005. This was my first time in Germany and I enjoyed every minute. The people are very friendly and very helpfull. I don't speak German but many people speak English in most business area's.
