Home away from HomeI have always wanted to come to Germany. I prepared by taking German all four years in High school. So when I found out that my husband and I were moving there it was like a dream come true! We ended up here in Bamberg, and I tell you I couldnt have asked for a better assignment! My HometownI been born and raised there and it is a realy nice city not to big and not too small. Bamberg downtown in the Summer is the best place to be. It is a realy old and beautyful city and lots of old stuff to see lol. Just go and visit and you will see.OVERALLAtmosphereConvenienceSafetyValue

I want to go back now!!I loved Bamberg Germany. I live in the United States and I just visited Bamberg last week for a friends wedding. It was the most beautiful city I'd ever been in. I would go back now if I could afford the plane ticket. I was in love with all of the buildings and sites to see.

My HometownI LOVE and MISS my hometown, I was born and raised there, I'm really proud!! Coming back after one year you see the city in a different light. Downtown is so beautiful and fun to go shopping and meet friends and just hang out in a sidewalk cafe. Everything is so close together and the public transportation is awesome. Fabulous TownI have visited Bamberg twice. Once I was visiting friends alone in Nuremberg and we went up for the Zauberfest. I highly recommend visiting the festival. The music, street performers, and food were great. The second time I visited I went up for the day with my parents at the end of a 2-week self guided tour of Germany. A Millenium CityI was fortunate enough to be stationed in Bamburg in the 1970's and went back for a visit a few years ago. It's a gem, since it was relatively untouched by either world war. When I was there for the first time, they celebrated their 1000th anniversary. The city hall and saturday markets are special. Loved it!I lived here for 3 years and loved it! We loved the marketplace; where you could shop for fruit, veggies, flowers, etc for CHEAP! The old buildings and architecture were wonderful, as well as the parks. The kids loved it as well, and still ask to go back. It was such a peaceful little town.
