I love everything about this town, I grew up there. Lille and it surrounding towns are a must see, it is much slower than it is in Paris. There is more to France than Paris! You can take a good long walk around town, if you love shopping they have all sort of store there! I love the food, they have all sorts of pastries,sweets,cakes something for everyone. A nice place to just relax and take easy.

The people of Lille are accomodating but you can't get away with not speaking French as you can in Paris. Most of the sites and located centre ville near the two train stations Lille Flandres and Lille Europe. Lille Europe has an attached mall and there are lots of stores around the Grand Place.
The Musée des Beaux Arts is nearby too.

I discovered this city when my brother moved to start his studies here. I have been immediately amazed by the place and the people. And I come over regularly to relax with my family.

Here people are warm and welcoming... that 's a place a recommend to travellers willng to have a different view of France, ie not just focused on Paris.

I lived in Lille as a medical student and have visited many times since. For a taste of a part of France that is truly unique, alomg with great food and a wonderfuly easy "centre ville" at least visit the city for the weekend. It will show one a part of France with significant Flemish influence and much easier to live in than Paris.

very beautifull city, really nice people (french people says about this city: they have inside their heart, the hiden sun of their sky), a lot of great events (among them "la braderie" attract every year more than 2 milions people!!!).

You can find in every corner of this city a festival of color.
