A Warm WelcomeDespite the excessive heat (33C)I loved this
city and the people who live here. Every place in France has an interesting history,
but I found more than the usual: built in the
12th century, home to writers (e.g. Balzac)and cartoonists (R Crumb lives not far away),
it is easy to get around by walking. I stayed

Kick-BackAngouleme is an interesting town,built upon a hill, surrounded by stone walls (ramparts). I lived in this town for three years and have since revisited it. You can meet everyone in town by going to local bars and not acting like a tourist (carrying a camera around your neck etc.). I would suggest going to la Mars Bar at place du champs.
