    Angers is a town that is easily managed to tour by foot. The Castle is a must visit and contains 40 tapestries that are worth the trip to Angers. Make sure you have dinner at Plantagenet - 4 star eating at a reasonable price. The wine shops are filled with local samplings which the wine shop owners will be glad to offer a wine tasting upon request.

    Les douceurs Angevins, aptly refers to the entire city and surrounding region. Angers is a clean, quiet, comfortable, safe, and relaxing place to stay while visiting the entire Loire Valley.   • Very nice visit for 2 days

    I recommend Angers for a 2 day visit.
    The ideal is to take a car and also go to Doue La Fontaine (25 miles south) try the "Fouaces" in the Troglodytes. Very typical meal. A good restaurant is the "Caveau".
    Angers is very nice city and full of history, the Central square "Ralliement" is the center of the city.

  • A wonderful city

    I studied in Angers during my college years. It is a beautiful, quiet city. The people there are very friendly and are used to dealing with internationals because of the large University in town, so they are understanding of the language barrier and very helpful. There are beautiful parks downtown and the castle is definitely worth seeing. I walked or been through most of Angers and I enjoyed all of it and always felt safe.
