what can i say about aix en provence? almost the same things than marseilles, except the beach..it's smallest than Marseille, but the atmosphere don't change at all! this town is very friendly and relaxing.in the street you'll mostly meet young peoples becaue of the big university, but if you like the country and naturals things, all of that with the spanish and the italian sauce, you'll love it!

Aix is a must!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/24/06
There are some of the best restaurants around Aix en Provence, from traditional French to Turkish. Lavender is a must for anyone visiting, pick some up, you will thank me later. Some very nice shops line these narrow side streets, watch for cars. A great selection of wine is available, but be sure to stop by a cheese shop and ask to pair some ...
This is Provence at its best; charming and genuine at the same time as the local universities and the booming economy makes this one of the most international and affluent mid-size cities of France. We came to live there for half a year, and we tend to go back again and again...

Tipical Provence town. Cours Mirabeau is very beautifull. It is a very convenient place to stay for some days and travel to may little villages that are few km arround.
2003-2004 Great city, great wine and Super Food. Super
I strongly suggest to visit Aix when in Fr. its not a place to miss and you will not be unhappy. Its only 3hrs by train from Paris and only 40min to the Beach.

Menton - Off the Beaten Path
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/10/05

Nice Nice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/09/05
I visited Nice. I found the beaches disappointing, because there is no sand - only rocks, which are very hard on the feet. (I have since heard, however, that the beaches are better at Cannes.) The water is very warm, however, if you're willing to brave the rocks. The shops and restaurants are wonderful, however, and the art museums breathtaking. Worth a stop.
