Last year, it received the award of highest distinction for the renovation of a Spanish Colonial. It is close to many of the great restaurants and is an easy walk to Cuenca's best sights.

Half hour from Cuenca there is Ingapirca. A sacred temple of Incas, where the virgens used to wait for the Inca. On the way can also go to see the lakes on the mountains, there are more than 200 small lakes that looks great from the distance.

I stayed with a local family while I was in Cuenca, but it was easily my favorite place I visited in Ecuador (including Quito, Baños, and the Western part of the Amazon). Lots of great food, nice people, and many local events to check out. I visited during Corpus Christie which was a special treat -- a carnival with fireworks, music, and food every evening. I would most definitely travel back to Cuenca.

I loved it, I missed my food but I liked the athmosfere, the people, the bread was excellent along with the Morocho, they have a lot of history to learn from.

Cuenca is often overlooked by visitors to Ecuador. It is really worth the trip to visit for a few days. It has beautiful cathedral and warm colonial feel. The inhabitants are friendly and made me feel welcome.

Cuenca it´s a very peacefull city, has the perfect weather, has a lot of culture, restaurants with asome food, a lot of souvenirs, the people it´s good and graceful, you must to visit Cuenca and you gonna love it.

When it was held in Ecuador last year all these beautiful woman spent some time in Cuenca. they call it the worlds most perfect climate. They export Roses all over the world and it is the only place that the Giant Rose grows.

Is the most beautiful place in Ecuador, is safe and clean, and there is too much things to do.
