I thought the place was ok for the price although we did not have warm water or electricity for most of the trip.
It is pretty comfortable and the hostess Suzanne makes you feel at home.
She cooks VERY well but you should ask for prices BEFOREHAND. She asks you what you want to eat and basically cooks it fresh for you. It's really good too. ...

I have been to Barahona four times, and have lived there for a couple months as well. It is filled with beautiful beaches, wonderful people, and rich culture. Whether it be taking a walk along the beach or hiking into the mountains looking for fresh fruit, or simply just walking throughout the town enjoying the lively autmosphere... it is truely a wonderful place to be.

My husband and I just returned from a trip to the DR and went to the Barahona area. We stayed in two hotels which are next to each other - the HOtel El Quemito and the Casa Blanca. We may have slept better at Hotel El Quemito because we had a corner room with windows on two sides and hot water but the overall hospitality and definitely the meals ...

i like everything is just like a lost paradise in the never land i love the beaches and the mountains the people are so nice i just cant wait to go back!!!
