What really made me feel good about being in Roskilde is that I wasn't afraid of walking on the streets alone or staying out late. Crime seemed non-existent which was a relief coming from London.

Roskilde has everything a weary wanderer could ask for. This small Viking city is beautiful and activities abound for all ages.
The Viking museum is definately a worth while trip. Don't forget to pick up a wooden Viking sword in the gift shop.

The Roskilde main church contains many of Denmarks royalty. It's very dramatic.
North of the city is a great museum that contains several Viking ships found in the harbor preserved in mud. A must see.
And during the summer Roskilde host a music festival that is similar to Woodstock - it's great!

This is a great little Danish city. I was there a few years ago. Great music festival. Check out GIMLE great bar! The people of this town are amazing. I enjoyed drinking in their parks and bars. They have a walking street with no cars..just shops etc.
