Puerto Viejo is the "pura vida." It's so relaxing. Time passes slowly. This is one of my favorite places in Costa Rica.

I loved Puerto Viejo....this is the Pacific Coast when one should have bought the Pacific Coast. I just bought my home site so that when I travel here I will have my own home to stay.

I absolutely loved Puerto Viejo! It is full of delicious restaurants, beautiful beaches, and wonderful people. The place is very nice, in the middle of teh JUngle, with a majestic view over the ocean.
The ride is a little bumpy but we felt it was part of the adventure. You go in a space wher time stops . We relaxed as we did not do in the past and re-charged our batteries.We will soon be back !

We have visited Puerto Viejo several times and will be going back again soon. Yes, it's a bit primitive for some; but that is truely one of the great things about the ambiance and culture. First impressions gave us images of Hemmingway's Key West in those bygone days.
