Arriving at the town of QUEPOS from San José, Puntarenas or Jacó, it's immediately apparent that you've crossed into the lush, wetter southern Pacific region. Vegetation is thicker and greener than up north, and you'll notice the proliferation of sports-fishing imagery – of all the sports-fishing grounds in Costa Rica.

I've been to Costa Rica 3 times so far and Manuel Antonio is always on my destination list. While the place is beautiful I find the people to be even better. It's a great place to relax or enjoy the true Costa Rican adventure by taking in the white water rafting, canopy tours with zip lines or a number of other short tours. I enjoyed my ...

Wonderful, wonderful place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/19/06
Manuel Antonio is amazing. The Costa Ricans did a great job of caring for their environment. I love how the animals don't even seem to be afraid of people. There are so many fun activities in this area. Isla Damas, a short drive away is also recommended. There a many yummy places to eat, Avion is top on the list. And for shakes and coffee, ...

Paradise!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/26/05
I love Isla Damas - a tiny island off the coast form Quepos. There is an estuary on the mainland side and a beautiful beaches onthe Pacific side. THer is so much to do - canopy tours, visits to Manual Antonio Park, conoing, fishing, fishing and fishing or just lying around drinking rum out of coconuts.

$7 hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/05
We stayed at the wide mouth frog hostel in Quepos so we could go to Manuel Antonio National Park. Quepos is just a 0min busride fog Manuel Antonio. The beaches in the park are amazing but Manuel Antonio is a bit touristy and expensive. I would reccommend to anyone on a budget to look for accomodation in Quepos. We paid $7 a night for a dormitory ...

In Heart Beat
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/05
I would return in a heart beat! The food was Great you can drink the water, also the farmers market in Quepos, super buys,Mangos, Bannas,Watermelon,Papaya. The Vila Bar for Heart of Palm Salad and Mahi Mahi priced just right!! The beach in Manuel Antonio one of the best, not to mention the people of Costa Rica,or Ticos as they are called by the Gringos yes in a HeartBeat we'll be back
The biggest attraction is the Manuel Antonio National Park. The beaches are beautiful and clean as well as the sea coastline. Facilities are simple and sound for this ecologically protected area, where you can find lot of birds, butterflies and some peaceful animals. People is friendly and the cost for enjoying the area is quite low.
Manuel Antonio and Quepos were the best places I went to in Costa Rica. Don't be fooled by Quepos rough exterior. The people are great and friendly and you can do everything you need to, like internet and quick lunches, in Quepos and stay in MAnuel Antonio really easily. The taxis are quick and cheap. Great night life. There are so many places ...

Going for a fourth time!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/05/05
Manuel Antonio is a great destination to see wild animals. I have been there twice in the three times I have visited Costa Rica. I recommend you fly from San Jose to Quepos or you can drive the three hours thru volcanos and hills. If you drive, stop to see the aligators/crocodiles on your way thru the bridge.. can't miss them.
