THIS IS A DANGEROUS PLACE. In the first weeks of january a little boy died in one of the hotel's pools. The pool was in a bad condition and not a single lifesaver was around to help the poor boy. Please don't go THERE.

Can't wait to go back!

There is a television commercial from the Colombian Tourist Bureau that indicates there is nothing to fear in Colombia, except fear of falling in love with it's charm and people. I can assure you that I have traveled the world extensively and I have never been emotionally touched and intrigued from a people as I have been in Colombia. Cartagena is a great place to spend a few days and enjoy the sights and culture.
Every body come here and ẹnjoy beautiful life. From the 16th to the 19th century the city developed parallel to the river, with the main street acting as a dyke. The historic centre has preserved the harmony and unity of the urban landscape. Most of the buildings are still used for their original purposes, providing an exceptional picture of what a Spanish colonial city was like.

My favorite Hotel is the Santa Teresa in the Old City or known as the Charleston. The Santa Clara is a close second both were convents and still have the Old charm. My favorite restaurant ...

Cartagena April 2007
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/11/07
I've read and heard much about it, but it may have changed since the previous reviews were written. The old city is indeed fascinating. However, most of the locals in Cartagena are poor , and if you arrived via the central bus station, your taxi must have passed through all the poor neighborhoods prior to arriving to the beach area, which was ...
I travel a lot, and believe me, this city captured me since the beginning.. if you have the chance, don't forget to walk on top of the walls, and you'll probably see the most amazing dusk !!! the people are so friendly, and HAPPY!!! they just want to be happy enjoy the life. I'm writing a book about that city, you have to go, this ...
The architecture of this city is breath taking, the history is very interesting, and the people are so friendly. I would highly recommend a visit to Isla de Rosario while in Cartagena. The beaches and water are absolutely beautiful. The water is as clear as a swimming pool. I would also advise staying at a hotel with private beaches. The public beaches are full of vendors that can be very aggressive.

Spectacular Architecture and Great Food
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/19/06
The thing I liked the most of Cartagena was its spectacular architecture. It is a 500 year old city full of culture, great food and fantastic people.
My family stayed in El Getsemani. It is in the old city. The hotel was Casa El Carretero
For food, I think the best place was Fusion and La Vitrola. There is another place called Club de Pesca ...
