many people talk about secutity issues .....but i was visit barraquilla colombia.and i`m totaly in love with colombia, nothing bad happen to me or someone i know ,if you wanna have fun .meet wonderfull people and have the best time of your life ,visit colombia.
and talking about rumbas(partys) they have the best clubs .belive me if you visit ...

It's good time in carnaval, Dance,Drinking and nice pretty woman.
The city has a nice hotel, a very good place to go. It's close to cartagena and Rodadero, where you can go to the beach, but if you want Rumba Barranquilla is the city

I lived in Barranquilla in the 80's. It was a very different experience from my early days in England. Barranquilla is a great jumping point for the Carribean coast of Colombia. Just outside there are lush forests and spectacular beaches.

This is one of the most friendly cities in Colombia i would say. Its an exciting city full of life...its pepople make u feel at home as soon as you step foot there. My personal suggestion being i lived there for 2 years is you must go for the CARNAVALES its usally in Feb or March its the best... if you love to party you'll have a blast!!. I would go over and, over again!!

If you've ever been or Known about places like San Antonio and its "Sea World, I'm sure you'll love Barranquilla and its "Carnaval". January is the best time of the year to visit this Tropical Paradise.

I seriously doubt that who ever wrote the intro to Colombia (remains dangerous etc) has actually been to Colombia....the coastal cities of Santa Marta, Cartagena and Barranquilla not any more dangerous than a typical big American city. Anyone with basic common sense will do fine. (don't show off, dress like the locals etc)
