People are right Xi'an is much more than the warriors. The vibrant muslim quarter, especially at night, is a must see place and you can get all sorts of souvenirs there and if you bargain hard they can be at great prices. Riding a bike around the city walls is a great way to get a good view of the city and to see the changes that are going ...

Xi'an, the Eternal City
By zhaozhao w, 06/18/06
Xi'an, the largest city in the Shaanxi Province, is one of the ancient capital cities of China. It served twelve dynasties including Western Zhou, Qin, Western Han, Sui and Tang, stretching over 2000 years. It became the Oriental cultural center along the Silk Road. The cultural and historical significance of the area gives Xi'an the laudatory title of "natural history museum".

By Hu Dandan, 05/16/06
First of all, I want to apologize, because I want to write a review of my hometown, Xiangfan, however, I can't find the very place. Xi'an and Xiangfan , both of them begin with letter'X', hence I choose here to post my review. Meanwhile, I just want to say, I never go to Xi'an, but I plan to go there later in my spare time. ...

Thank you for all of your travel reviews published here and writes in your own voice for your experience in Xi
We've spent few days in Xi'an and loved it. Apart from Terracotta warriors, there are great things to see and taste in the city itself. We had most serene tee in the backyard of the small goose pagoda and busiest evening in Muslim quarter. Excellent food, interesting people. Would love to go back soon.
Of course Xian delivers on all of the historical and c ultural sights. The Terracotta soldiers, the tombs of ancient Emperors, the HuaQing pools, the Xian incident, the Silk Road terminus. But it's also now a huge, dense, *intense*, and hectic tourist city.
I visited for the first time in 1993 and when I visited again in 2005 and I was ...

History but no glamour
By Vincent, 01/03/06
Most will see the Terracotta Army (90RMB, 65 in winter) but won't like it that much after visiting, because by China praised as the 8th world wonder, it seems too small and not glamorous in the end. I think its historical very interested. Buy a 25cm Terracotta warrior for 5-10RMB (at the market out of it) even if they offer it to you for 45RMB. ...
Of course the main attraction makes Xian a major tourist draw. But I found the city itself wonderful by itself. It's a much small city steeped in amazing history. The people are very friendly and I had a very relaxing stay.

Amazing Xi'an.
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 06/13/05
The amazing and really ancient history of Xi'an with its historical sites such as the Terra Cotta warriors (and other 1st emperor sites), the Shaanxsi Museum, etc. make this well worth the visit. I was amazed that I really got to enjoy Chinese music as played in an enjoyable historical stage show about the 1st Emperor. However the pollution ...
