nice placeBeen living in Shenyang for over 4 years now,
the places worth traveling are TV tower, Nanhu Gongyuan, Beiling park, Expo, Benxi water caves, Fuling park. Guaipo or the magical slope is good in winter but definitely not in summer!
For shopping Wuai is famous n you can buy clothes & accessories for a good price after bargaining. Taiyuan jie, Zhong jie is also famous shopping areas.OVERALLAtmosphere

Antique hunting in ShenyangI have been to Shenyang many times and I always look forward to going back. You will enjoy the Open Air market. It is one of the largest markets in the world. It took me three days and I still did not see every thing. The people at the market are very cheerful and friendly but non spoke English. Enjoy it every day...After many tours through most parts of China we finally decided to buy a house in Shenyang. First of all, because this is where the daughter of my wife lives, but also because it's a modern city with many traditional parts, I guess you can find all you're looking for, just take your time for it... be awareI've been in Shenyang for 5 times now because my wife was born there. What I can say is: think before you go there. It's not as safe as it seems. A lot of kind people but also a lot which you can't thrust. Hardly somebody to find who speaks English. Climat in winter extreme cold, in summer dusty. Enviroment very bad. Excellent place to liveI lived in Shenyang back in 1998 and I enjoyed it every moment. The people are nice and always greeting you. The food is awesome. The best time to visit Shenyang is in summer. Interesting cityI lived in China from October 2003 until May 2004. I enjoyed the hustle and bustle of this city. Granted, pollution and traffic are in abundance but, the population is what sets the city apart. I found many helpful folks in this city. great city to visitI Liked everything it was very plesent and comforting. I felt more safe there than anywhere else I have ever been. The people are the most friendly and loving I have ever met. I walked and visited with many different age groups and everyone was always smiling and saying hello. I have been there 3 times in the last 2 years and will return.
