Chongqing - Mountain City
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/10/06
Chongqing has improved immensely over the past 5 or 6 years. Infastructure, pollution control, general living standards, entertainment.... you name it, all have had a marked improvement. Foreign investment is at an all time high, and the expat population is increasing accordingly. There are several top hotel groups such as Marriot, Harbour Plaza, ...

Chongqing City
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/04/06
I've travelled to Chongqing many times over the last 7 years on business. The changes during this time have been incredible - yes the city does have a pollution problem, but the air and water quality has improved considerably over the years and is still doing so due to the investment being made into environmental projects. The infastructure has ...

Walk carefully with your eyes wide open.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/17/06
I moved to Chongqing from America. It is a HUGE, heavily populated industrial city. Cross a street or walk down narrow alleys with caution because of intense traffic and very limited traffic signals. If a car or bus misses you a motorcycle might not. The air is heavily polluted by industry and motor vehicles. There are more resturants and ...

typical southwestern city
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/07/05
From a view of a chongqingnese, the real memorable thing is not the rapidly growing of tall buildings but the old style of life in the city.

Excellent Food - Terrible Pollution
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/24/05
The spicy food of Chongqing is, in my view, the best in China. Chongqing is still inexpensive. Westerners are still viewed as a curiosity. Summer is brutally hot; try Spring or Fall. Unfortunately the air pollution is horrible and tends to ruin the entire Chongqing experience. The Chinese government is taking measures to improve the situation but it will take many years to clear this up.

I love Chongqing because I was born there. Its my hometown.
in summer of last year. i came to this town to visit my buddy. i was touched by this hot and spicy city. the weather is hot but kind! the food is hot but delicious! it doesn't like the other big noise cities. maybe that is the reason why i like there.

Dee Dee's Bar - Nanping
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/05
A great western style pub situated close to the Holiday Inn Hotel and apartments.
The bar/restaurant serves western as well as Asian dishes at very reasonable prices. Dee Dee's is a meeting place for the resident expatriates which makes it a great source for local know-how, a real plus for Chongqing.
You can get detailed information from their website - www.deedeesbar.com
I stayed at the Chongqing Guest House for 15 days. The accomendations were unsurpassed for the price. The staff was the best I've had in any travel. I would highly recommend this establishment. The people were exteemely friendly, although I received staring looks. I beleive attributed to very few Americans present.
