Just a warning to anyone traveling to Salvador Brazil. If you rent a car it's best to steer away from cheaper local companies and stick with the world known names. I have had an awful experience with a local rental company called Aerocar. The vehicles are poorly maintained, and the service is non-existent, especially if you are a foreigner. My credit card was also overcharged.
Salvador has attractions to all kinds of persons: there are a lot of beautiful beaches, with warm and transparent water, old and historical places, like Pelourinho, Elevador Lacerda, Mercado Modelo, and too much culture everywhere: capoeira, music, candomble, exotic food, etc. If you're going to visit Salvador for the first time, visit ...
You are a tourist who love travel to beautiful country. Please forget the place - Salvador! Second only to Rio in the magnificence of its natural setting on the mouth of the enormous bay of Todos os Santos, SALVADOR is one of that select band of cities which has an electricity you feel from the moment you arrive. Its foundation in 1549 marked the ...

One day / night in Salvador is enough
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/12/06
The old part of Salvador is a must see, and the traditional soups (I can't remember the name but your guide book will name them) are great. Unless you are there for Carnival (which is supposedly incredible) one or two nights is enough in the City, as the beggars are out of control. The problem is with the safety. Walking around at night ...
It is a historic city of Brasil with friendly people. There are a lot of barroque churchs and the architecture is unique. The carnival there is the best in Brasil. The songs and colours are amazing.

beautiful City! Amazing People. Best Carnaval in the owrld. Please go and don't forget to visit Morro de Sao Paulo and Ilheus, this last one amazingly beautiful too.
I loved the beauty of the city. The people are kind, and the city is varied between hills and beaches.
The city can be overwhelming to the first time visitor. Shops are crowded and bars and guards are everywhere. Yet with proper precautions, shopping can be a great experience.
I didn't like the cautiousness that one needs to get by in ...

I love Brazil and I can not wait to return. Great music and people seem happy all the time. The people are beautiful and the food is delicious. The men doing the Capoiera in Salvador were also delicious. Beautiful People!! If you get a chance, don't think twice. There is alot to gain from this culture. Nice buildings with lots of ...
First of all I want to say that if I could - I would live there in a heartbeat.
The beaches, the island of Itaparica, the Bay of Saints, the wonderful churches...the list is endless. I can't get enough of that city. You must do the 'tour-on' activities and sites - go downstairs of Mercado Modelo. Learn about the history at the sites.
