Spirit that must experiencedIf you want to experience something different in Europe, trip to Sarajevo is an obligation. Spirit of the city is contagiously spread on everyone who walking its street. And try to experience the city with all senses, from the extraordinary food, coffee, rakija or water, to enjoying in view on really handsome and dressed up Sarajevans'. I want to live here!I spent almost a year here on a peacekeeping mission from 2003-2004. I had lived in Europe for four years and visited almost every country and I love Sarajevo the best! The scenery, restaurants, shops, culture, but it's the people! I have come back 3x since to visit and of course, the reconstruction is going slowly, but they are moving forward and that is what counts.Was this review helpful? You will love itIt's just wow, great great place to visit.
Great people, beautiful place....a lot of history is there... Greeks, Romans, Ottomans, Austro-Hungary,...they were all there. Once you visit, you'll understand why there where there. Now I understand why people were dying for that land, I just hope one day they will learn to share it with eachother and with us as well. Multicultural with rich history and great food and hospitalityThis is the city in which the first tram was built in Europe,in which the First World War started and in which you can see a mosque, catholic cathedral, orthodox church and a synagouge all close to each other in one area. hiking and trekkingHiking with green visions is an experience you will never forget. The highland villages, beautiful mountain scenery...and their friendly and professional guides make it a memorable event. I was blown away by the natural beauty of the bosnian mountains. something to remember forever in my heartI liked this place a lot... I actually got to visit this place in winter so i got to go christmas holiday shopping with mai family.
I also took the book Zlata diary with me so i got to read on the plane... I went to the resturaunts to eat and thre people were so friendly... hahaha i met a group iof nice friends who helped me with the directions. Come to Bihac, too!Bihac is a small town in western part of Bosnia, gorgeous in summer. It is very convenient to visit it while you are in Croatia as it is 2 hours drive from Zagreb and 45 minutes from Plitvice lakes. Like no otherProbably the only place I feel in love with, even after six years from visiting it. There are so many faces of Europe (and Asia)present here, so much beauty and so much tragedy!... The taste of "1001 nights" in an European town - so strange and charming -, and all the horrible things that happened in such a wonderfull place in the '90-s are a mixture that goes right to your heart.
