What a dissapointment! Trash every where and locals dont care. Just bring your wallet and your white women thats all they want. Govt. corruption from mayor to DMV to the police! A Country of Lies kept alive by Bribes! Its Tijuana n Jamaica mixed with garbage! No wonder its such a pit. Grand Caymen even Cozumel beats it hands down. Why would ...

Two hotels in San Pedro
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/25/09
In November of 2008, my husband and I stayed at two different local hotels in San Pedro and loved both of them. The Conch Shell Motel is in the center of town, right on the beach, the rooms are spacious, the porch is wonderful and the owner and manager are always around. Down the beach is Changes in Latitudes Bed and Breakfast, just off the beach ...
Mata Rocks was not a good value, the price was high and the rooms and property were very run down. The staff was very unhelpful and rude. We stayed at both the Mata Rocks and Banana Beach next door and paid less for Banana Beach, had a much much larger and nicer room and the property was very nice. Save your trip and do not go to Mata Rocks, try Banana beach next door, you'll be glad you did.
It was one of the nicest places I have visited in 30 years. Best kept secret. People were very friendly & caring. Ocean so clear you could see the fish, Can't wait to go back

san pedro was great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/20/08
We stayed at the Spindrift and the location from the water taxi was great. People friendly and food excellant. We were there the first part of May and the weather was great.
San Pedro was a really nice place not only were the locals are great people but they are very helpful. I enjoyed chilling on the beach and watching the locals continue to carry on their everyday life. I would say anyone traveling with kids should defiantly try out Banana Beach Resort which is on the south side of town but they are extremely nice people.
I am defiantly looking forward to returning to the resort again.

Xanadu Resort San Pedro, Belize
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/05/07
We stayed at Xandadu Resort and it was a great place to vacation, snorkel, dive and relax and I would go back. It is small (18 rooms) and the staff is very friendly and helpful with scheduling flights and cabs to and from the island, scheduling tours, and they have free internet if you bring your own computer. We rented a go-cart for the week to ...

Paradise on a budget!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/23/06
I took a backpack and headed to Belize. If you don't have much money you can get rooms at Martha's Guest house for $20 per night on Ambergris caye. It was good enough and safe. Young folks should check this place out. Cheap flights are hard to find. Fly to cancun ($300) and bus to Belize. Fly to ambergris is $50 each way or boat ride is 35.
