Brugge is a lovely, old city that gives you a glimpse into the past, while giving you modern shopping options. One would guess what tourism is the number one economical business in Brugge. There are normally a great many tourists, which can slightly take away from the atmosphere a bit.
Still, if you are looking to see medieval architecture, ...
My wife and I took the train from Brussels. The scenery getting there was spectacular and very much like stepping out of a time machine once we arrived. Ancient, beautiful and so completely different than any place else we have visited. If you're in the area don't miss it.
Brugge is in one word...beautiful. What a gorgeous city. It is like going back in time seeing the old buildings and canals. The only clues that it is also a very modern city are the designer stores and flocks of tourists. Brugge is by no means a cheap city to visit. Tourism is a major industry, but it's well worth the trip. You walk down ...
I recently returned from a 10 day trip to Belgium. We did 8 days in Brussels(which was amazing) and 2 in Brugge, because all of our friends told us that you only need 2 days to see everything in Brugge. If you are just going for the canals, architecture and a few beers, this is true. But if you really want to experience Brugge, its unique culture, ...
Brugge was the cutest, friendliest, and cosiest town I visited in Belgium. The mussels are fresh for lunch. The boat tour guides have the best English. The nuns have the cutest nunnery. The churches are beautiful. Don't leave Belgium until you've visited Brugge!

I took a school trip with some friends to Brugge in March of 2000... it was more money than I could probably afford, but it was TOTALLY worth it... Brugge has everything: history, scenery, charm(y)... the city is chock-full of it all! Just walking down the streets is wonderful.... Europe as it once was... if you go you must take a canal tour!

It was a nice small town good for exploring on bike or foot. Stay for only two or three days which is all that is necessary to completely explore the town.

Brugge is a well kept secret! Scenic at every turn. The people are very friendly. Only one hour by train from Brussels (go toward Blankenberge) and far less hectic. Will definately return!

If you like a city with an old world charm. This is it. I was supprived to discover such a well preserved historical place. Not well known in US. If not for the tourists around(even in early spring), I would think I was in a time machine and back in the old world.

It's one of the most beautifull hisoric cities i've ever visited. It's a nice little town, fully conserved with a lot of beautifull ancient buildings!
