cairns is less than 4 hours away, and offers so much more, why see townsvilles brown parks, spread out shoping areas, when you have the convenience of a number of shopping centres all within 10 minutes ...

I felt like home. Cane fields look like corn fields in my upstate NY. USA. area. The trees look like ours here too except not so tall. The Reservior area looks just like the Ashokan Reservior. Even found my curtains in your KMart store. Expected more fresh veggies and salads on menues & on the market. You do not eat as many Italian things as we do ...

I was just passing through Townsville, it's a pretty place with excellent nightlife along Flinder's street where we stayed at the best value motel, called Downtown Motel. At $16.00 pn.pp.complete with a small swimming pool on the roof an ideal stop over.

I felt safe walking around at night time. It is not a big place,and may not look as pretty as some of the more tropical settings futher north but once you are in the town and start walking around you feel comfortable and relaxed.It is very clean. liked everything about the place and people, one is better going there about Feb or March as it is a little cooler.

The people are friendly,the weather is fabulous,if sometimes a little bit HOT!.
The place is so clean and litter free,
and there are no yob,s hanging around on
the street corner,s.Townsville is very
central for shooting off to explore lovely

well i thought it was the best place i have ever been to because i went to see the great barrier of Reef but i did hav my dislikes but overall it was excellant !!!!!!! so if you are thinking of going my opinion is to go!
