Lake Geneva area.
Stayed at Fontana Inn and Suites overlooking Lake Geneva. Eat our way around the lake took the 2 hour lake boat tour, wonderful. Went to eat at the Mars Bar 'super food' Had a glass of wine at the B & B next door and watched the sun set on Lake Como from their deck, there was live music. The whole visit was great. My wife is already planing a girls weekend in the spring.

This area is great. It is a perfect get away from all the congestion of Chicago. Dont get me wrong Chicago is the BEST place to live but the Lake Geneva area is the place to get away from all the traffic, polution, sirens, and all other noises and things asociated with a big city.

I agree with the last post, Lake Geneva is a classic tourist trap. Everything is way overpriced, traffic is very bad and hotels are overpriced and dirty. Downtown Lake Geneva is like a third rate strip mall but with very high prices. This is classic industrial tourism run wild.

Lake Geneva was something off a movie. There were the big tour boats that went around the lake, carriages with horses that took us for a ride, and a trolley. Mars Resort will put a smile on your face the minute you walk in. The staff is extremely helpful. I stopped by on Easter nite and the bar was packed! Ordered a half slab of ribs as the locals raved about them. The waitress dropped off a full slab, but only charged me for a 1/2 slab. They were awesome!! Fell right off the bone! Wow! What a great course. Beautiful setting! Challenging course, but they also have a par 3 18-hole course you can walk! Great for duffers or kids, or people like me who need to work on short game!

Overall atmosphere was wonderful, beautiful gardens, tasty food and drinks, accomodating staff too.

I'll definitely be back!
