If you are planning a visit to Harpers Ferry, be sure to contact Rick Garland (www.obejoyfull.com) to set up a guided walking tour. He does a great job at bringing the town and its history alive. Great stories about the town and its inhabitants, plus a touch of music. Thoroughly enjoyed our tour.
I love HF. I have spent hours wandering the streets day and night, talking to local residents about the hauntings that occur regularly in this town. The local hotels are not recommended, but the local Bed and Breakfasts are superb. A friendly town, with a rich and colorful history.

The Quartermaster Tavern was a disapointment and we will never, never eat there again. How could a restaurant owner charge 50 cents for water. Is the owners mind frame such that they will never see these people again so gouge the customers. You should be ashamed of your fruit bowl for 7.50 for a few grapes, strawberries, cheese. You should be ...

Charming Town - Bad Dining Options
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/28/07
We loved how well the houses are preserved and turned into mini-museums. You can really come in touch with history in a town like this. Time stands still and life seems to be confined to the 19th century. The shops are charming, but way over-priced. Who in their right mind would pay $9.00 for a bar of soap?? When it comes to dining, it's ...
Such a beautiful place. The National Park Service has done an excellent job preserving this place. Take the bus from the visitors center down into the valley. Don't be a jerk and drive yourself down. I will go back.

The Quarter Master Tavern was clean but No atmosphere! Food okay--not cooked to order and WAS WAY OVER PRICE for what you received. Felt like things done on the cheap. The Service staff was okay.

Loved the way things seem to have stood still in time. History is free. Great little shops..Prices are reasonable. An excellant way to spend the day is at Harpers Ferry. You can bike on the trails. hike up the hills. Enjoy the view. Walk along the beautiful wide river.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/28/05
My husband and I love this place because we come to Harpers Ferry for our wedding anniv- ersary. This is the 51st. We love the beaut- ful trees, shrubery, the town, folks, the good food and over wonderful place to visit. The Historic part of the town and close in- teresting places around it. We are going to the giant flea market also. Doris E. Kern
