I love this place...but i go nuts over the winter when they are closed..I need my ice cream fix..I can still smell the funnel cakes...pepperoni rolls..hot dogs..Dag gone i am hungry!!

Wow... where to start with Fairmont. Well, the first thing you notice is a lot of empty buildings because a lot of businesses close or move out. East Fairmont looks like a ghost town in spots, due to an interstate connector that caused a lot of houses to be torn down. The only mall in town has hardly any stores, but there is a great Chinese and ...

i'm always excited to get back home when i can. Fairmont is where my heart is even though i've been living in the south. I always have to stop at woody's hotdogs and get a dozen of dogs and chocolate milk for the road back south, and always a bag of mr.bee potato chips. Fairmont is a great place to retire someday but until then I'll make the best of my visits home.

the small town atmosphere is great... we have low crime, great schools, good food..pepperoni rolls..the best ice cream shop in the state..Dairy Creme Corner rocks with the biggest cones in the world ...not only are they large but they are inexpensive, and delicious. IT is the best place to spend some time with your friends at the picnic tables under the shade of the trees...Hate it when they close in the winter.

its a great place to live and visit. the people are all so friendly and nice. there are also some great places to eat....my favorites are the book 'n bean and the pokey dot. there are some amazing old houses here too. theres a great history and the city embraces it.

Highgate is very cool. I'd like to see the rest of it -- the big house. And it would be nice if all the strip shopping junk and greasy restaurants and motels close by could be cleaned up so you could see what must have been a very beautiful neighborhood at one time. Wasn't there a big Fairmont Farms house and stable around here? What happened to city planning in this town?

The Book n' Bean is the one good place in this dieing town. With good drinks, food, music, art and conversation its the best coffee shop I've ever been to. Keep it up what ever your doing right.
