LOL, graduated from YHS in 1956. Mostly grew up there. Nice town to grow up in, clean air and water. Great friends, many are now deceased. There were six of us that paled around together, and all joined the service...USAF. Some exploits of which, have been hour episodes on the history channel. The threat of a nuclear war was very real then and our ...

I was born in Yakima
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/15/06
I like Yakima there is a lot to do and so much spice! I was born here 18 years ago and I love it here! hi Eloy!
I have very few complaints about this city. I've lived in Seattle, Denver, and Nebraska and this is the best so far. Live in Seattle if your single, raise a family in Yakima is my motto. Great safe city to . . . as long as you live in the right part of town but Seattle's that way too.

The gateway to Washington wine country.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
Yakima is a city in a state of change. It is getting known since Washington wine country. But Downtown has turned into almost nothing. It's shopping core has moved from Downtown to a more subburbine area. Downtown will soon be a place to go. It will have live entertanment, wine testing fine dinning, upscale Hotels including a Hilton opening ...
Sunshine, Wine, and so many things to see and do!! The weather is great from March to November. Lots of great restaurants. Did I mention Sunshine and Wine?!?!
I am uncertain about the above individual's experiences but I HAVE lived in some scarey places and Yakima in not one of them. Of course Yakima like most towns has its bad areas and you need to be cautious about them. On the other hand, I have lived in the city of Yakima for the past year and I don't even lock my doors. Hardly a crime ridden place.

This is the worst town in washington. Including all the crime and unsafe areas and gang activity and you name if it's bad it's happening here!
