Aladdin Inn has changed hands but whoever has it now wont fix or clean anything. We stayed here Sept. 15 and the carpet was filty. didnt even vac. A hanging lamp was tied up with a plastic bag. The micro. and coffee pot had not been cleaned. And the next morning the housekeeper came into our room; without knocking! This was only 9am! Check out was ...

Good and Bad

Port Townsend is a story book town. However it is populated by old hippies and lesbians. The smell of the paper mill is overwhelming. You can smell it before you come into town. Not a good example of the fresh Pacific Northwest air available elsewhere.
I have been going to Port Townsend for the past twenty years. It has nothing to dislike about it except for crowds on weekends, so go during the week. From great beaches to walk on at Ft Worden State Park, to city parks like Chetzamoka, from Victorian building preservation throughout the area, from terrific B&B's to choose from and great ...

Lovely Weekend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/19/06
We recently stayed a The Bishop Inn in Port Townsend and found the room and facility very hospitable. We stayed in "Bishop Room 15" in which our 2 kids slept on the pull out sofa and my wife and I stayed in the bedroom with a queen bed. It was quiet at night and enjoyed slept very well, which in my book is most important. The Bishop Inn ...

A wonderful, peaceful place.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/27/05
I've been to Port Townsend several times. It is a magical place, full of natural beauty, and culture. Where can you go and find the beauty of the Puget Sound, snow capped mountains, including a clear view on sunny days of Mt. Baker, and lush forests all in one place! The people who live there are down to earth, and friendly. The shops and restaurants are wonderful. I think my favorite place is the Rose Theatre. I will definitely go back.

Sooooo Much to Do

Events, events, events! Blues Festival, Jazz Festival, Fiddle Festival, Kinetic Sculpture Race, Rhody Festival, Film Festival, Wooden Boat Festival, Victorian Festival, Dance Festival, Chocolate Octopus Divers Treasure Hunt, Marine Science Center Low Tide Fest. Why would anyone go anywhere else?
Off the beaten path, Port Townsend, Washington is a charming town great for family vacations or a romantic getaway.
Full of Victorian homes from the late 1800's, some used now as Bed & Breakfasts Inns, Port Townsend retains some of the vintage charm of that era. But don't think that's all there is to the town. Fun and Funky shops line the main street, so make sure you stop in and explore everything Port Townsend has to offer!
When I was a kid, places like Port Townsend was where you got draged too to develop an appreciation of Seattle, where I was born and raised. My moms from Chehalis, and I've got family scattered around the Northwest. Main street was like a side street, locals stared at you like they didn't "cotton" to your kind, and the smell of ...

For People Who Appreciate Life
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/31/05
I have read the reviews posted and although I feel everyone is intitled to their own opion, I also feel some people can never be happy and just enjoy the simple things in life. As once a tourist to PT and now a resident of several years I must say that there is plenty of activities to do, both in and near PT. Boating, golfing, fishing, game ...

I agree with the Angeleno who said PT is boring. It can be. Also it's at the mouth of Puget Sound and if you haven't heard, we're famous for rain. And it's windy at the E end of the Straits of Juan de Fuca. BUT I've been coming to PT since 1971 when many of the historical, beautiful old houses were falling apart. You could ...
